Onshore Wind Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Wind Expert/Specialist  to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both onshore and offshore wind energy technologies, project development, and operations. You will play a crucial role in driving the growth of our renewable energy business by providing technical expertise, project management, and strategic guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Expertise:
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in all aspects of onshore and offshore wind energy projects, including site assessment, resource evaluation, turbine selection, grid connection, and project design.
  • Conduct detailed technical due diligence on potential projects, including reviewing technical documentation, site surveys, and environmental impact assessments.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in wind energy technology, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Project Development:
  • Lead the development of onshore and offshore wind projects from inception to financial close, including site identification, permitting, financing, and construction.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, construction, and finance, to ensure seamless project execution.  
  • Operations and Maintenance:
  • Provide technical support for the operation and maintenance of wind farms, including troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and performance optimization.
  • Develop and implement O&M strategies to maximize the energy output and minimize downtime of wind farms.
  • Monitor and analyze wind farm performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.  
  • Strategic Planning:
  • Contribute to the development of the company's long-term wind energy strategy, including identifying growth opportunities, assessing market trends, and developing innovative solutions.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential projects and assess their feasibility.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, workshops, and other relevant events.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Advanced degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Renewable Energy) or a related field.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the onshore and offshore wind industry, with a proven track record of successful project development, construction, and operation.
    • In-depth knowledge of wind turbine technology, grid connection, and power system analysis.
    • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and permitting processes for wind energy projects.
    • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
