Location: Mayes County Projects
1 Hour outside of Tulsa
Pay: $52/hr Max
OT Available
Schedule : 5/10's, no more than 60 hours max per week
Mobilization/Demobilization: 1st and last trip $1500
Monthly per diem: $5,100 (must be out of town)
Truck monthly allowance: $1500
Per Diem: $5100 monthly
Monthly trip home: $500/monthly
Laptop/Cell Allowance: $220/ monthly
Position Summary:
Leeward Renewable Energy is seeking a highly qualified Electrical/MV/DC Owner's Representative – Quality Inspector to oversee and ensure the quality of electrical, medium voltage (MV), and direct current (DC) installations across our renewable energy projects. This role will act as the Owner’s on-site representative to inspect, verify, and ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards, focusing on electrical systems at the medium voltage (MV) and direct current (DC) levels. The position will work closely with contractors, engineers, and the project management team to ensure quality control, safety, and timely project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections and quality checks of electrical, medium voltage (MV), and direct current (DC) installations to ensure adherence to approved designs, specifications, and codes.
- Inspect the installation of medium voltage cables, DC circuits, inverters, substations, transformers, and associated electrical equipment.
- Verify electrical materials, components, and equipment to ensure they meet quality standards and certifications.
- Oversee pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, ensuring all MV/DC systems are installed and functioning properly before operation.
- Witness and verify tests such as insulation resistance, continuity tests, and DC/AC system integration.
- Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC), relevant IEEE standards, and local building codes for electrical installations.
- Document inspection results and create detailed reports, identifying non-conformance issues, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
- Communicate and coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders to resolve any quality-related issues.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure that MV and DC electrical work complies with safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Review electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications to assess and validate the work being performed on-site.
- Ensure that corrective actions for any identified issues are implemented promptly and verified through follow-up inspections.
- Participate in regular construction meetings and provide technical input on quality and electrical-related matters to ensure alignment on project goals.
- Maintain accurate and detailed project records for all inspections, tests, and quality audits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical quality inspections, specifically with medium voltage (MV) and direct current (DC) systems.
- Knowledge of renewable energy projects (solar, wind, or energy storage) is preferred.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations, including NEC, NESC, and IEEE.
- Experience with commissioning and testing of MV/DC systems, including cables, inverters, and transformers.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve quality issues effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for reporting and coordinating with contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders.
- Familiarity with electrical testing equipment and quality control software tools.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high standard of quality assurance.
- Willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
Certifications:
- Certifications from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), International Electrical Testing Association (NETA), or equivalent are highly desirable.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification or similar safety certifications are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including outdoor construction sites.
- Capable of standing, walking, and navigating construction areas for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required for inspection activities.
