This is a highly exciting opportunity to shape the future of our client's offerings and create value for their customers. The client is a technology-driven water and wastewater solutions company. This role is expected to bridge the gap between technical teams (Process/Applications, Engineering, R&D) and business teams (Sales, BD, Procurement, and Marketing), assisting in the development, launch, and optimization of products. This role involves working closely with engineers and stakeholders to define product features, manage the product lifecycle, and ensure technical and commercial feasibility.

The Product Manager plays a key role in understanding market and customer requirements, translating these requirements into technical specifications, and following through with productizing these specifications for a market so it's scalable. This position provides valuable exposure to both product management and technical environments, making it ideal for individuals interested in leadership roles.

Essential Responsibilities:

Understanding the Problem to Solve

  • Ability to work with customers and Sales teams across key geographies to distill down market requirements that can be translated to specifications.
  • Laying out immediate customer pain points and the problem we will solve, understanding the evolution of this problem over the next few years.
  • Ability to work with Marketing to assess Addressable market (TAM/SAM/SOM) for the applications intended to cover.
  • Ability to work with Sales to understand the value we deliver to customers across the product lifecycle.
  • Understand current solution offerings and see how to integrate these products into current solutions.

Setting Up to Solve the Problem

  • Work closely with engineering, process, and applications teams to ensure technical requirements are clearly communicated and understood.
  • Assist in coordinating the technical implementation of features, ensuring they meet requirements.
  • Provide support during the development process by answering technical questions and resolving ambiguities.
  • Drive alignment between technical teams and ensure an agile framework to deliver on the key requirements of the product.
  • Project management of the product development cycle.

Delivering on Performance

  • Ensuring that we are able to deliver and exceed on the performance required.
  • Analyze performance metrics and customer feedback to make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
  • Enable pilot programs to get as much data as possible to ensure the product and solution address the challenges envisioned.
  • Assist in monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) with the leadership team to ensure technical features align with business objectives and deliver value.

Scale the Product

  • Work with Engineering, Process, and Procurement to ensure setup of the supply chain for production or manufacturing.
  • Prepare presentations and documentation to communicate technical performance of the product to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Project manage the first production batch with initial bill of materials and BOQs for building this product.
  • Continue to obtain data on product and feature performance, including customer feedback on the product.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Prior experience of 5+ years in technical sales is a plus, exposure to understanding the quick and iterative cycle of developing a product.
  • Highly motivated to grow in a fast-growing and dynamic organization into future leadership roles.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to navigate uncertain or complex environments through a continuous cycle of questioning and refining assumptions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
