The Role
Reports To: Senior Project Manager
Location: Flexible, with regular travel required
The Project Manager will oversee various development and consent workstreams for renewable energy projects. The role involves collaboration with project teams and external consultants to ensure the successful delivery of key project milestones.
Responsibilities
- Manage project workstreams from initial site selection to planning consent, pre-construction, and financial close.
- Develop and maintain project schedules in collaboration with internal teams.
- Support the development of project business cases and commercial strategies.
- Coordinate external consultants for stakeholder engagement, project design, and planning applications.
- Lead feasibility assessments and pre-planning surveys.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including landowners, planning authorities, and community groups.
- Oversee project budgets, accounting, and risk management.
- Ensure all governance and project management standards are maintained.
Skills and Knowledge
Required:
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Understanding of onshore wind project development and planning processes.
- Familiarity with renewable energy policies and Environmental Impact Assessments.
- Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and project management tools.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of renewable energy development in Wales.
- Experience in developing project schedules and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
- Certification in project management (e.g., APM PMQ).
- Welsh language skills are advantageous.
Experience and Qualifications
- Proven track record in renewable energy or related infrastructure project management.
- Experience with environmental impact assessments and planning applications.
- Professional or academic qualifications in engineering, planning, or environmental disciplines.
- Willingness to travel regularly as part of the role.
