Spencer Ogden are currently seeking an experienced Site Coordination Manager to support our global OEM client with an ongoing turnkey HVDC project in Japan where they will act as the interface between the client and the client's customer on site for a minimum contract duration of 12 months (renewable).
Eligible candidates must be eligible to work in Japan under a work permit, or ideally already hold valid working rights. Additionally, they must be fluent in both Japanese and English reading, writing and speaking/listening as the on site customer only communicates in Japanese.
Job Scope and Responsibilities:
- You will be active as a coordinator for HVDC project installation and commissioning.
Coordinating the dispatch of TAs for HVDC installation and commissioning at customer sites after delivering HVDC equipment to the customer.
- Coordination with client for assignments of TAs & pre-commissioning / commissioning engineers to Site in accordance with overall targets (Health & Safety, Quality, Schedule, Cost & Delivery) defined for Project.
- Communicate with customer to understand site schedule and plan dispatch of TAs based on that schedule
- Coordinate with PM team & diff depts + offshore teams from various units on site progress and issues to ensure completions of site technical advisory and pre-commissioning / commissioning support activities.
- Manage with customer technical subjects related to equipment installation and testing at site.
- Willing to travel in Japan and overseas.
Desired Characteristics
- Fluent Japanese and English (verbal & written) communication skills required.
- Well versed working in a matrix organization & have worked in managerial role.
- They will be face of our client speaking to customers. Should have good communication & interpersonal skill.
- Relevant experience working at a project site with min 5 years experience.
- Experience & capabilities in HV equipment installations & electrical works preferable
Contract Details:
- Start date: As soon as possible but flexible for ideal candidate in case of notice period.
- Duration of Contract: 12 months from start date, extendable
- Location of Work: Nagasaki, Japan
