Project Scheduler / Planner Position Available

Job Description

We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Project Scheduler / Planner to join our Projects Group. The primary focus of this position is to provide scheduling support through the development, maintenance, and implementation of our Project Controls System (PCS). This role involves supporting all ongoing projects’ Scheduling efforts and assisting in the improvement of the PCS.

Position Objectives

The Project Scheduler / Planner will be a project management professional who can work well within a multi-disciplinary team, capable of prioritizing and multi-tasking while supporting multiple interfaces. This position will report directly to the Projects Performance Manager on projects and team performances & progresses.

Candidates must possess effective leadership skills to monitor and control the agreed performance objectives and provide leadership and guidance to the Project Controls Team (PCT), where appropriate. The ideal candidate should apply skills and good judgement, based on previous experiences, to guide projects to success.

Responsibilities

  • Extensive Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project skills, focusing on constant improvement and innovative solutions to support project needs.
  • Creating and managing complex schedules using P6 or MS Project and databases.
  • Working alongside the Projects Team and Project Managers to develop, establish, maintain, and update all projects’ schedules.
  • Developing, monitoring, and updating resources-loaded schedules that meet clients' requirements.
  • Performing critical path analysis, preparing reports, and developing links amongst the numerous activities of the projects' schedules.
  • Identifying project changes, trends, risks, and opportunities when supporting the Project Team with clients.
  • Facilitating the functions of estimating and scheduling as they relate to progress and completion of the assigned work scope.
  • Being an active member in quality control measures implemented and maintained in the schedules.
  • Supporting the contractual responsibilities and post-award activities as part of a Projects Team.
  • Reporting project performance and status to the Project Performance Manager.

Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree or equivalent years of experience in a relevant field, B.S. in Engineering preferred.
  • 7+ years work experience preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Proficient computer skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6 and related software packages.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Fluency in written and verbal English; other languages are an asset.
