Job: Mechanical Commissioning Engineer
Type: 12-month Contract - direct
Start Date: ASAP
Location: On-site, Edwardsville, IL
Schedule: 10-4 Flexible, 40-hour work weeks + overtime (1.5x)
Per Diem: $146/work day
Requirements:
- Candidates that come from Oil and Gas backgrounds
- Candidates can come from Powerplant AND Electrical background
- Candidates can come from Natural Gas and or Landfill Background
- Experience with commissioning Rotating equipment
- Experience with commissioning Compressor Stations
- Experience with commissioning Piping Systems
- Experience with reading and understanding equipment manuals (minimal training needed)
- If they have mechanical engineering Degree (5years exp)
- If they have no degree (10 years exp)
- Minimal PNID Training if needed - not preferred
Responsibilities:
- Commissioning RNG plant
- Commissioning Rotational Equipment
- Commissioning Compressor Systems
- Commissioning Pipping Systems
- Reading and understanding equipment manuals so not training needed
- PNID Training if needed
- Instrumentation commissioning
- Controls commissioning
- Will need to conduct meetings to report and document
- Will need to use ARC Flash software
- Ensure all commissioning activities adhere to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards applicable to RNG facilities
- Maintain detailed records and documentation of commissioning activities, test results, equipment performance, and any modifications made during the process.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues or deficiencies during commissioning, working to resolve problems and ensure systems meet performance expectations.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors involved in the installation and commissioning of mechanical systems to resolve issues and ensure smooth operation.
- Perform functional testing of mechanical systems and equipment to ensure they operate according to design requirements and performance standards.
- Conduct pre-commissioning checks and inspections to verify that mechanical equipment is installed correctly and ready for functional testing.
- Develop commissioning plans and procedures specifically for mechanical systems, outlining the sequence of testing, functional checks, and acceptance criteria.
Certifications:
- OSHA 30
- Arc Flash Software
- Any Commissioning Certifications: CCP, REP, PMP (not required but preferred)
- CPR/First Aid
