Mechanical Commissioning Engineer - RNG

Job: Mechanical Commissioning Engineer
Type: 12-month Contract - direct
Start Date: ASAP
Location: On-site, Edwardsville, IL
Schedule: 10-4 Flexible, 40-hour work weeks + overtime (1.5x)
Per Diem: $146/work day

Requirements:

Candidates that come from Oil and Gas backgrounds
Candidates can come from Powerplant AND Electrical background
Candidates can come from Natural Gas and or Landfill Background
Experience with commissioning Rotating equipment
Experience with commissioning Compressor Stations
Experience with commissioning Piping Systems
Experience with reading and understanding equipment manuals (minimal training needed)
If they have mechanical engineering Degree (5years exp)
If they have no degree (10 years exp)
Minimal PNID Training if needed - not preferred

Responsibilities:

Commissioning RNG plant
Commissioning Rotational Equipment
Commissioning Compressor Systems
Commissioning Pipping Systems
Reading and understanding equipment manuals so not training needed
PNID Training if needed
Instrumentation commissioning
Controls commissioning
Will need to conduct meetings to report and document
Will need to use ARC Flash software
Ensure all commissioning activities adhere to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards applicable to RNG facilities
Maintain detailed records and documentation of commissioning activities, test results, equipment performance, and any modifications made during the process.
Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues or deficiencies during commissioning, working to resolve problems and ensure systems meet performance expectations.
Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors involved in the installation and commissioning of mechanical systems to resolve issues and ensure smooth operation.
Perform functional testing of mechanical systems and equipment to ensure they operate according to design requirements and performance standards.
Conduct pre-commissioning checks and inspections to verify that mechanical equipment is installed correctly and ready for functional testing.
Develop commissioning plans and procedures specifically for mechanical systems, outlining the sequence of testing, functional checks, and acceptance criteria.
