Manager, Project Development - CAISO Region

A leading developer in renewable energy projects seeks a Manager of Project Development for the CAISO Region. This role involves overseeing the development of utility-scale energy storage and renewable hybrid projects from market assessment through financial close. Responsibilities include leading project development activities, managing external stakeholders, overseeing project reporting, and contributing to regional expansion efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead project development from inception to financial close, coordinating with internal and external experts.
  • Develop relationships with external stakeholders, including landowners, permitting authorities, and utilities.
  • Lead project reporting, risk identification, mitigation, and financial performance tracking.
  • Source consultants and negotiate scopes of work for development studies.
  • Support commercial team in project marketing and RFP responses.
  • Contribute to development and project acquisition due diligence.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and integrate them into project strategies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, finance, environmental science, or similar field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in utility-scale renewable energy project development.
  • Strong project management skills with experience in managing multiple large teams.
  • Ability to assess and resolve project and contractual risks.
  • Knowledge of major RTO/ISO operations, including legal, regulatory, and environmental aspects.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Teams, Project, PowerPoint, Excel).

  • Salary: Competitive, based on experience.
