Job Description: CAD Manager – Central Coast

Location: Central Coast, CA

Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented and experienced CAD Manager to join our team in the Central Coast, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer-aided design (CAD) and will be responsible for managing our CAD operations, ensuring high-quality design standards, and supporting our engineering and design teams. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the CAD department, implement best practices, and contribute to the success of our projects across various disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • CAD Management:

    • Oversee the daily operations of the CAD department, including the coordination of CAD activities and the management of CAD resources.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain CAD standards, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across all projects.
    • Provide technical leadership and support to the CAD team, ensuring efficient and effective use of CAD software and tools.
  • Project Support:

    • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and designers to develop accurate and detailed CAD drawings and models.
    • Review and approve CAD drawings and models to ensure they meet project requirements and adhere to company standards.
    • Assist with the preparation of design documents, technical reports, and presentation materials.
  • Training and Development:

    • Mentor and train CAD technicians and designers, providing guidance on best practices, software usage, and professional development.
    • Organize and conduct training sessions to keep the CAD team up-to-date with the latest software advancements and industry trends.
  • Quality Assurance and Control:

    • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all CAD work meets industry standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct regular audits and reviews of CAD work to identify and address any issues or areas for improvement.
  • Software and Technology Management:

    • Manage CAD software licenses, installations, and updates to ensure the team has access to the necessary tools and resources.
    • Evaluate and recommend new CAD software, tools, and technologies to enhance the efficiency and capabilities of the CAD department.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in CAD management or a similar role, preferably in the engineering or construction industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation).
  • Strong knowledge of CAD standards, best practices, and quality control procedures.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
